前回は、【励ましの英語シリーズ】の第四弾で、『役職をもっている同志を励ます編』ということで、リーダーを励ます英語というのをお送りしました。
今回は、もっと『一般の学会員さんに向けて』の励ましの英語となり、比較的引用しやすい内容なんじゃないでしょうか。
この、「未入会用」「リーダー用」「一般用」の３セットがあれば、だいたいのことが説明できるかもしれません。
これからも、「Quoteで創価」で毎日発信しているものがたまってきましたら、このようにまとめシリーズとして皆さんにご紹介していきたいと思います。

「苦楽ともに思い合せて」題目を唱え抜こう。
Let’s “regard both suffering and joy as facts of life” and continue to chant daimoku.
大変な時こそ題目ですよ。
When things are difficult, that is the very time you should chant daimoku.
まず祈ることです。
It is important that you put chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo first.
真剣に祈ることから始めなくてはいけません。
You must start by earnestly chanting.
より一層、信心根本に進もう！
Let’s advance based on faith, more than ever.
唱題を根本に、人がどう見ようが、どう言おうが、自分自身はこう生き抜くのだと決めて、堂々と信心に励んでいってください。
Please continue to exert yourselves courageously in faith. Determined to follow your chosen paths in life, always base yourselves on chanting, regardless of what others may think or say.
「師子王の心」が苦悩に負けるはずがない。必ず乗り越えられます。
The heart of a lion king cannot be defeated by any suffering or hardship. It will always overcome them.
どんなに大きな悩みであっても、人間は必ず乗り越えられる。このことを心におぼえておいてください。
Please remember that whatever troubles you may have in life, you can overcome anything.
いかなる逆境にあっても妙法を根本に進もう！
No matter what kind of adversity we encounter, let’s advance with the Mystic Law as our foundation!
負けないことそれ自体が全ての勝利につながる。
Remaining undefeated itself will lead to victory over all!
大事なことは、ねばり強く挑戦を続けるということなんです。
The important thing is to continue to challenge yourself and not give up.
いつも笑顔を忘れずに！
Remember to smile always!
心に不屈の太陽を！
Always have in your heart an unconquerable sun!
いかなる労苦も困難も全てプラスの力に！その原動力が信心です。
Transform each and every difficulty or adversity into positive advantage! Faith is the power source.
焦らず弛まず一歩ずつ！
Take one step at a time patiently and tirelessly!
問題は私たちの一念に、行き詰まりがあるかどうかにかかっています。
Everything hinges on whether we allow our inner determination to become deadlocked.
前へ前へ、朗らかに粘り強く進んでいけば、失敗したことだって、次の成功につなげることができる。
If you keep moving forward cheerfully and steadily, you can learn even from your mistakes and do better next time.
「今」をがんばれば、「過去」さえも光らせ、「未来」をいくらでも開いていける。大切なのは、「今は何をする時なのか」と考えて、それをやりきることなのです。
By doing your best now, you can make the most of what happened in the past. And you can open the door to infinite possibilities. What matters is that you think about what needs to be done now and then give your all to doing it.
すべては「今から」「これから」「きょうから」始まるのです。
Everything starts from now, from this moment, from today.
折伏は「相手を幸せにしたい」との祈りから始めることだ。
Sharing Buddhism with others starts from your prayers for the other person‘s happiness.
一生涯、御本尊様を離さず、学会とともに、広宣流布のために生き抜いてください
Please embrace the Gohonzon throughout your lives, dedicating yourselves to the cause of kosen-rufu along with the Soka Gakkai.
「信行学」を柱に地道な努力を貫ぬいていこうよ！

苦難の中だからこそ

大変な時

「師子王の心」で

負けじ魂の挑戦で
by taking on challenges with the “never give up” spirit.
「しし王の心」が呼ばれて、あらわれてくる
calling forth the heart of the lion king.
「心こそ大切」なのです。
Our heart is what matters most.
折伏に挑戦する人への励まし
折伏は、できても、できなくても朗らかにやりなさい。皆に最高の希望と勇気を贈る対話なのだから。そもそも、人を救おうとして悩むなんて、すごいことではないか。それ自体、地涌の菩薩の悩みであり、仏の悩みである。

Always be positive and upbeat when you share Nichiren Buddhism, whether others decide to practice or not. The aim of our dialogue, after all, is it impart great hope and courage to others. 大事なことは、相手に伝えたい「心の思い」を、誠心誠意、響かせていくことだ。気取りなどいらない。ありのままでいい。自分らしく誠実に、広布への大情熱を語る。飾らず率直に、自らの体験を語るのだ。そして皆の心を軽くし、勇気を贈るのだ。「それなら、自分にもできる」と思えれば、一人一人が自信を持って力を発揮できる。

The important thing is to convey your thought with sincerity in a way that truly resonates in your listeners’ hearts. There’s no need to put on airs— just be who you are. Convey your great passion for kosen-rufu in your own way, honestly and sincerely. Share your personal experiences in faith in a straightforward way. Strive to lighten the members’ hearts and impart courage. If members feel “I could do that too!” they will be able to fully demonstrate their abilities with confidence.
