みなさん、こんにちは。
前回に引き続き、「励ましの英語シリーズ」をお送ります。
前回は、どちらかというとこの信心のことをあまり知らない、未入会の方のためのものをお送りしました。
今回はふり幅を１８０°変えまして（笑）、こんなテーマでお送りしようと思います。
「役職を持っている同志を励ます編」。
パチパチパチっ。笑。
自分で言うのもなんですが、かなりマニアックな、ええ感じのところを突いているんじゃないでしょうか。
私たちは同じ学会員同士を「同志」と呼んでいますが、
いわゆるまとめ役のようなもの、「役職」をもって活動している同志への励ましの英語となります。
そんなの興味ありますか？ 笑。
でも、そこらへんを突く話って意外と重要で、リーダーを励ますって大切だと思うのです。
なかなかこういうのを紹介するブログはないですからね。これぞ『英語で創価』の真骨頂。笑。そんな気持ちいいぐらいのマニアックな内容を一緒に見ていきましょう。

あ、そうそう。
実はこの記事よりも先に、「一般の同志に対して」の励ましをやるつもりでいたのですが、それは次回ご紹介します。一般の同志用ではなく、いきなりリーダー用の励ましを先に紹介するマニアックぶり。

この人には今、どう励まし、何をしてあげれば希望と勇気をもって前進できるのかと考え、手を打ってください。
Please think deeply about what you can do to encourage each member to advance with hope and courage. Then take the necessary steps to do so.
一方的に指導しても、意味がないのです。
Just giving guidance without putting yourself in the members’ shoes isn’t very meaningful.
耳を傾け、一緒に祈り、心を開き、心をつかむことが大切です。
It’s important that you listen to them, chant with them , open their hearts, and truly understand there situations.
皆を確信をもって指導していくことは大事です。しかし、それは威張ることとは違います。
It is important to give guidance with conviction, but that is entirely different from being haughty.
一人一人を大切にし、相手の幸福を願い、丁重に、礼儀正しく語るなかにも、おのずから滲み出てくるのが、信仰への確信です。
When you care for people, praying for their happiness while always treating them courteously, conviction in faith will naturally emerge from your life.
大事なのは「力」をつけることです。人々に尽くす「心」を磨くことです。
The important thing is to develop your ability and cultivate a commitment in your heart to work for the happiness of others.
大切なことは、相手に同情するーあわれむ―ということではなくて、「わかってあげる」ということです。「理解」することです。人間は、自分のことを「わかってくれている人がいる」、それだけで生きる力がわいてくるものです。
The important thing is not just pitying others but understanding what they are going through. Empathy is a crucial. Sometimes having someone who understands can give us the strength to go on.
同志は、幹部の信心について来るのです。人柄について来るのです。背伸びをして、見栄を張る必要はいっさいないんです。
Members are attracted to a leader’s faith and fine character. There is not the slightest need to put on airs or pretend to be better than you really are.
自分のありのままの姿で、素直に、自然に、仏法を語っていく姿でいいのです。人によく思ってもらうために信仰はあるわけではありません。
It’s perfectly fine for you to speak about Buddhism from the heart, in your own words, in a very natural way, just as you are. The purpose of faith is not to make yourself look good in the eyes of others.
自分の小さな尺度で人を評価してはいけません。まして、好き嫌いなどの感情に左右されてはならないんです。自分と気の合う人間だけを大事にしていたら、本当に力ある人材は育たないからです。
please avoid judging others based on your own narrow-minded criteria. More importantly, please don’t let personal likes and dislikes influence you. If you care only for those you get along with, truly capable people will not develop.
自分から「いい人間関係」をつくるしかありません。そういう関係をつくれる人間に、自分がなる以外にないのです。
You have to work at cultivating good relationships with others. You have to become a person who can develop such relationships.
一人で悩みを抱えず、 相談することが大事な場合があります。相談することは恥ずかしいことではないのです。むしろ、その「 開かれた心」が強みになるんです。
There are times when it is important to consult with others rather than struggle alone. Seeking advice is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, being willing to open your heart can be truly valuable asset.
やろうという気持ちはあった、そのつもりでいたといっても、行動に出なければ、何も考えていなかったことと同じです。
“Having a desire or intention to do something is meaningless unless you translate it into action—it’s the same as having no intention at all.
何かを成そうという時に、誰も進んでその事を言い出さないのは、互いに責任を押しつけ合っているからです。本当の団結がないということですよ。
If you want to accomplish something, yet none of you takes the initiative to begin the discussion, it means that you’re all trying to push the responsibility off on someone else. It proves you lack any real unity.
何事も大事なのは基本に徹することです。
In any situation, what is important is wholly dedicating oneself to the basics.
「初心忘るべからず」です。壁にぶつかったときこそ原点に立ち返るのです。
Remain true to the saying, ”Never forget your original resolve.” If you reach a deadlock, it is the very time to return to your starting point.
あたり前のこと、平凡なこと、かんたんなことが、じつは大事なんですよ。
it’s often the most plain, normal, and simple things that are most important.
目の前の「一人」を徹して大切にしていこう！
Let’s treasure the person right in front of us!
短い会話だって、一本の電話だって、真心は必ず伝わります。
A short conversation, even a single phone call, can convey warmth and sincerity.
たった一言でも幸せを願う真心は必ず相手に通じますよ。電話やメールなどを使って安心の声を届けていこうよ！
Even a few words, expressed with our heartfelt thoughts and prayers for a person’s happiness, will reach them without fail. Let’s continue to convey reassurance and comfort by telephone, e-mail and other means.
抜苦与楽の実践者になろう！
Let’s become people of action who “remove suffering and impart joy.”
友の心を軽くする、抜苦与楽の達人になっていこう！
Let's become experts at removing suffering and imparting joy so we can take a load off of our friends minds and lighten their hearts.
今、戦わずして、いったい何年後に戦おうというのですか。
If you don’t fight now, then how many years from now do you plan on starting?
御書から頂いた感動、勇気を、率直に語ることです。
I hope you’ll readily share with others how to the Daishonin’s teachings have touched your life and given you courage.
話のうまい下手は関係ないんです。「断じて、この御書で友を励ますのだ」という一念で決まります。
It doesn’t matter if you’re an eloquent speaker or not; What matters is your firm resolve to encourage others based on the Daishonin’s words.
努力は必ず、成長の糧になる。ましてや、広宣流布のため、陰で尽くした労苦は、全部、自分のためになります。無駄がない。
All of your efforts are a source of growth. The unseen efforts you make for the sake of kosen-rufu, in particular, will return to you as your only benefit. Nothing is wasted.
仏法に無駄はないのです。前向きに挑戦した全ての経験は必ず後に生きてきます。
No effort is ever wasted with our practice of Nichiren Buddhism.Every challenge we undertake with a positive attitude will bear fruit in the future without fail.
頭でわかるのと、信心でわかるのとは違う。
There is a difference between understanding something intellectually and understanding it on the level of faith.
賢明に祈り、行動するのが仏法者の在り方だ。
To pray earnestly and to take action is the way of a Buddhist.
信心に行き詰まりなし。
There are no deadlocks in faith.
祈って努力し、努力して祈る──その時に、諸天善神は動くんです。
We need to chant and make efforts, make efforts and chant; by doing so, we can activate the positive functions of the universe to work on our behalf.
目標を忘れた時に空転は始まるのです。
When we lose sight of our goals, we start going around in circles and getting nowhere.
いくら「善だ」といったって、「悪」に負け、結果として「悪」を助長してしまえば、それは「悪」になってしまうかもしれない。 悪に敗れてしまうような正義であるがゆえに、人類の不幸が続いているのです。
No matter how right a cause may be, if it is defeated by evil, it only ends up aiding evil and being counted as evil itself. Because right is defeated by evil, our world continue to suffer as it does.
人の長所を観察したほうが、自分が得です。人の欠点をあげつらっても得るところがない。

It’s much more valuable to look the strengths in others—you can gain nothing by criticizing people‘s imperfections.
