こちらこそ。よろしく。
私も全力をあげます。本当のことを若い世代に語っておきたい。語り残しておきたい。
It is I who must thank you. I am determined to give my all to these discussions. I wish to speak honestly, to leave the truth as my legacy to all of you.

ともあれ私は、高校生を決して子ども扱いしたくない。一個の立派な大人として、人格として尊敬しています。紳士とも思い、淑女とも思っています。
I have no intention of treating the members of the high school division like children. I hold you in the higher esteem and think of you as adults of fine character, I regard you as ladies and gentlemen.
だから、ありのままに、率直に語っていきます。今すぐに全部わからなくてもいい。
As such, I will speak with you frankly and unreservedly.
納得できること、できないこと、両方あるかもしれない。それはそれでいい。
You may not understand everything I have to say to you right now. And you may not agree with everything I have to say. That's perfectly all right.
自分のために、”何か”をくみとってくれればいい。
I would be happy if, however, from this discussion, you could glean something, however small, that might help you and be of benefit to your growth. That is all I seek.

～青春対話 Ⅱ～
私は昭和３年（1928年）の生まれである。高校生の皆さんとは、うんと世代が違う。
I was born in 1928, and am of a generation far removed from those attending high school today.
当然、感覚も、考え方も隔たりがあると思う。
So many gaps may naturally separate our awareness and ways of thinking.
それにもかかわらず、私は、「自分はこう思う」ということを、率直に語っておきたかった。
Nevertheless, in these dialogues, I have presented my thoughts directly and without holding back.

これまで生きてきた経験、成功、失敗、反省、信念。それらを、ありのままに話して、できることならば、悩みを乗り越える「勇気」を贈りたい。
If they(adults) speak directly and honestly about those things(experiences, successes, failures, reflections and convictions), they can impact to young people to courage to overcome their suffering and worry.
こういう思いで、高校生の皆さんに語ってきたのが「青春対話」である。
It is with this point in mind that I have conducted these Discussions on Youth.

ともあれ、語るべきことは語った。
In any event, I have said what I needed to say.
後は、皆さんがどう生きるか、皆さん自身が決めることである。
From here, it is up to you to decide how you are going to live.
この本の中で、たった「ひとこと」でいい、あなたの「心の弦（いと）」に触れる言葉があれば、私はうれしい。

今回は、私の大好きな『青春対話』から先生の言葉を引用してみました。
これは『青春対話Ⅰ』の冒頭、そして『青春対話Ⅱ』の最後の部分をお借りしています。
師というのは本当にありがたいもんですね。
高校生にでさえ全力で向かってくれています。
私はそんな先生の姿から「ああ法華経の話は本当の事を言っているんだなぁ」と思うのです。
ぱっと思い出したのは・・・いや、厳密にいうと、微妙に思い出して一生懸命探して見つけた一節が、薬草喩品の中にありました。
迦葉よ、これをよく知りなさい。如来は、あらゆる教えの王なのです。如来が説くものに無駄なものは何もないのです。一切の教えは、如来が智慧を持って方便で広げたものなのです。それゆえ、さまざまな教えがとくものは、すべて真実の法にたどり着くのです。如来は、すべての法が行き着くところをよく見て理解しているのです。Kashyapa, you should understand this. The thus come one is king of the doctrines. In what he preaches, there is nothing that is vain. With regard to all the various doctrines, he employs wisdom and expedient means in expounding them. Therefore the doctrines that he expounds all extend to the point where there is comprehensive wisdom. The thus come one observes and understands the end to which all doctrines tend.
また、一切衆生の心の奥底の働きを知っており、何も隔たりがなく全てを貫いているのです。そして、その法を究め尽しており、一切衆生に智慧の全てを明かしているのです。
And he also understands the workings of the deepest minds of all living beings, penetrating them completely and without hindrance. And with regard to the doctrines he is thoroughly enlightened, and he reveals to living beings the totality of wisdom.
「仏の命」が全開に出ている人というのは、
たとえ高校生の悩みに対しても真剣にアドバイスをし、この法を受け取れる道筋を作ってくれる。
そこに命を費やし、まるで生い茂げる草木が芽吹くよう、地面に向かって平等に雨を降らせている。まさしく薬草喩品の世界がそこに広がります。
後は、皆さんがどう生きるか、皆さん自身が決めることである
この言葉はとても深いですね。
先生は全力で伝えました。
さあ、あなたはどうしますか？
師が偉大なのは、弟子が偉大になるからです。
私はまだまだ力が足りない。今は受け取れる器も小さい。
だからこそ、その伝えた言葉から、受け取れる力を、吸収できる力をガンガンつけていきたい。
私自身がこの雨の本義が分かれば、私自身がこの希望の雨、法の雨を降らすことができる。
仏が誓いを立てたものは、皆が「雨を上手に受けとれるようになってほしい」ということではない。
仏は「如我等無異（にょがとうむい）ー我が如く等しくして異なること無からしめん（全ての人々をわたしと等しくして異ならないようにしたい）／hoping to make all persons equal to me, without any distinction between us」と言っているのだ。
妙法と一体になる命は、常にこの雨を降らす。
すべての仏が説く法は、同じこの雨を降らすからです。
これからを生きる私たちが、自分の人生をかけて、雨を降らしていく。
釈尊も日蓮も、先生も、みんなが全力でこの雨を降らせ、私たちを待っている。
青春対話。高校生の時にいつも読んでいましたが、今読むと、どんな書籍よりも深い内容が書かれていることに気がつきます。
素晴らしき人生を！
