仏は、どこか遠い彼方の国にいるのではない。娑婆世界という現実の、この社会にいるのである。仏は、悩み、苦しみ、喜び、生きる、人間の生命のなかに存在するのである。

仏法は、現実から目をそらし、慰めや観念の幸福を説くものではない。眼前の不幸に挑み、現実社会のなかで、勝利の実証を打ち立てていくのが、本来の仏法の在り方である。『新人間革命２ 先駆（７）』
Buddhism does not avert its gaze from reality or teach us to seek consolation or some abstract happiness. Rather, the true attitude of Buddhism is to challenge the unhappiness that confronts us and show actual proof of victory in society.

「人間」以外に「仏」はないのです。「人間以上」の「仏」は、にせものなのです。方便なのです。だから、人間らしく、どこまでも人間として「無上の道」を生きていくのが正しい。その人が「仏」です。『法華経の智慧（５）』
There is no Buddha existing apart from the people. A Buddha set above the people is a fake, an expedient means. Therefore, the correct way is live with dignity as a human being and to continue along the supreme path in life; to do so is to be a Buddha.

「仏」とは、「法」を身に体現した一人の「人間」にほかなりません。現実の人間の行動を離れて、別の場所に「法」が存在することはないのです。『世界を照らす太陽の仏法(大白蓮華１２月２０１８）』
A Buddha is none other than a human being who embodies the Law. The Law does not exist in some separate realm, apart from the actions of human beings.

みなさん、こんにちは。
さて今回のテーマは「仏はどこにいる？」ということで、
「新・人間革命」や御書講義などから「仏はどこにいるか」をかき集めてみました。
どうでしたでしょうか。
先生は本当にいろんなところで何度も何度もおっしゃっていますね。
何度も何度も目にしているはずなのに、こうやって毎度毎度、新鮮に感じてしまうのは凡夫のなせる技。笑。
ブログにも何度も何度も書いてしまいます。
そして、書いたそばから忘れていきます。泣。
でも、忘れたらすぐ思い出せるように、私はずっと書き残していきますよ！
私は「戸田先生の弟子」です。
I am President Toda’s disciple;
そこに私の根本の誇りがある。
this is my greatest source of pride.
戸田先生は、獄中で法華経を身読された。
While in prison, Mr. Toda read the Lotus Sutra with his life.
「法華経が分かった」と主張するだけの宗教者なら、他にもいたでしょう。教祖にまでなった者もいた。
Many other learned Buddhist practitioners through the ages have claimed to understand the Lotus Sutra. Some of them even became founders of their own Buddhist schools.
しかし戸田先生は違っていた。
But Mr. Toda was different.
あなたは仏様か、と新聞記者たちから聞かれて、「立派な凡夫だよ」と語っておられた。
When a journalist once asked him, “Are you a Buddha?” he replied, “I’m a proud common mortal!”
挫折と蘇生のドラマを演ずる民衆群を抱きかかえながら、嵐のまっただなかに厳然と立っておられた。
Warmly embracing the common people as they enacted dramas of rebirth and renewal from despair, he stood tall and firm in the midst of life’s tempests.
人間革命――先生の人生そのものです。
His life was the very embodiment of human revolution.
人間革命――先生はこの一言に、
In that single term “human revolution,”
宗教がおちいりやすい独善の罠を打ちくだいて、
he broke free from the trap of self-righteousness and hypocrisy into which religion so easily falls, and
仏法の最高の智慧と、人間の最高の生き方と、社会の最善の道とを、見事に合致させたのです。
magnificently merged Buddhism’s supreme wisdom, the ideal way of human life and the path to building a better society.
さあ、みなさん。
「仏」はどこにいるのかわかりましたか？
