創価学会とは一体何なのか。
今日は、世界192ヶ国・地域で活動している 「創価学会」について簡単に解説していきます。
Hello everyone!
Today's theme is 'What is SGI?'. I will give a brief explanation
about Soka Gakkai, a Buddhist organization active in 192 countries and
territories around the world.
創価学会の「創価」とは？/what is SOKA means?
まず創価学会の「創価」とは 、「価値を創造する」というところからきています。
英語で創価学会を「直訳」すると、「Value Creation Society」と表現できるのですが、
”SOKA Gakkai International”
略してSGIと呼ばれ
現在192ヶ国・地域でSGIの メンバーが活躍しています。
例えばアメリカ創価学会はSGI-USA、大体の国はSGIの前か後に 国名がつくことが多いようです。
それぞれの国で微妙に違うところがありますので、ご興味がある方はSGIの公式 ホームページをご参照ください。
ということで創価学会は、
「創価」 ＝”価値を創造する”
"Value"を"Creation"する人たちの 集まりということになります。
ではその「バリュー」とは、一体何なのでしょうか。
これを簡単に解説していきましょう。
First, "Soka" in Soka Gakkai means "creating
value."
In English, a direct translation would be "Value Creation
Society."
However, abroad, it's referred to as Soka Gakkai International, or
SGI for short. There are SGI members active in 192 countries and regions.
For instance, the Soka Gakkai in the United States is referred to
as "SGI-USA". Many countries use the SGI prefix or suffix. There may
be slight variations in each nation, so for those interested, please refer to
the official SGI website.
In essence, Soka Gakkai is a gathering of people who "create
value". But what does this "value" mean? Let's dive into that.
命の中にあるものとは何か？
誰もが自分の命の中に計り知ることのできないエネルギーが備わっている。
そのエネルギーの凄さと素晴らしさとは一体何なのか、
そしてそれを知った者は、まだ気づいていない者へこれを必ず伝えていくことを仏の前で宣言をする・・・
こんな「物語」があります。
それが法華経です。
Everyone
possesses immeasurable energy in their life...
What is
this profound potential power?
And
those who recognize it vow, in the presence of Buddha, to widely share it with
those yet unaware.
There is
such a story... This is 'The Lotus Sutra.'"
この法華経が解説していたものとは？／what was explained in the Lotus Sutra story？
それはどういう意味なのかと言うと、
「妙法」とは 「この計り知ることのできないこのエネルギーの本体」 を指し、
「蓮華」とは 「自分の命の中で働かせていく」 という形をとるからです。
つまり、自ら実践することによって
このエネルギーがそれぞれの命で姿形となって目の前の現証として現れてくる。
つまり原因と結果を生み出す「自分そのものの姿」を花びらと実が同時にある「蓮華の姿」で例えられ、
エネルギーの本体、「妙法」を
自分の実践の姿、「蓮華」で 表していくという形になっています。
これが「法華経で何を解説していたのか」 の正体になるのです
To concisely summarize the story of the Lotus Sutra, and indeed its title, it can be distilled to 'Myoho Renge.'
南無妙法蓮華経とは
そして「自らが妙法蓮華のリズムとなって 行動していく」と宣言すること
日蓮が示したもの／what was Nichiren indicated?
日蓮はこれで本当に現証が現れるのか、
この自分の姿を最後まで弟子たちに 見せ続けるのです。
自分を崇拝するのではなく、「同じ意志を持つ者」として立ち上がること。
このように自ら実行し、力強い妙法を 自分に表して行けるようにするだけではなく、次につなげていく行動が必ず伴う。
これが、日蓮仏法の本体になるのです。
Until the end, he served as a model for his disciples.
He emphasized not worshiping him but instead standing firm with
the same conviction he held. The goal is not only to activate this Myoho within
ourselves but also to take consistent action in sharing it with others,
embodying that vision in our lives, and nurturing individuals who embrace the
same spirit. This embodies the essence of true Nichiren Buddhism.
日蓮仏法を実践するとは
「日蓮の意志」を受け継ぐ者に国境はありません。
日本を全く知らなくても、
日本独特な文化、作法、姿形を真似することなどしなくても、
どこに住んでいても、
これを実行する人であれば 全てに例外なく当てはまり、
創価学会が広がる本当の理由
なぜ創価学会という民衆の団体が今、世界192ヶ国•地域に理解が広がり
自分の限りない可能性を引き出し、
妙法のリズムに合った 「あなたのバリュー」を創造し、人生に起きてくる波を乗り越えていく。
創価学会の「創価」 ＝「価値を創造する生き方」とはこういうことなのです
そんな一人ひとりの物語。
一人ひとりが主人公となり、自分の生き様を通して、次に繋げていく。
世界中の同志と一緒に私たちは活動しています。
I believe the primary reason why the Soka Gakkai, a grassroots
organization, has expanded its understanding to 192 countries and regions, and
seen a growth in active members in each country, lies therein.
It's about tapping into one's boundless potential and becoming the
best version of oneself. It's about creating value in your life, harmonizing with
the rhythm of the Myoho, and overcoming various challenges and adversities.
The term "SOKA" in Soka Gakkai represents this approach
to life: creating value.
Every individual has their own unique story, and each one of us is
the protagonist in our narrative.
We pass on this spirit from one generation to the next throughout
our lives. We practice alongside our SGI comrades around the world!
