「太陽の仏法」の大いなる光は、今、地域社会も、地球社会もいよいよ赫々と照らし始めております。
The magnificent light of the Buddhism of the Sun is now beginning to illuminate communities and global society ever more brightly.
magnificent・・・崇高な、素晴らしい
illuminate ・・・照らす、光を当てる
brightly・・・明るく、輝かしく
創価学会創立九十周年、そしてSGI結成四十五周年のこの一年、大宇宙の運行の根本のリズムである妙法とともに、元初の生命の旭日を、一日また一日、清新に輝かせながら、幸福と平和の価値を無量無辺に創造してしていこうではありませんか！
This year, we will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Soka Gakkai’s founding and the 45th anniversary of the SGI’s establishment. Aligning our lives with the Mystic Law, the fundamental rhythm of the universe, let’s cause the sun of time without beginning—our inherent Buddhahood—to shine forth with fresh and vibrant brilliance each day to create boundless and immeasurable value in the form of happiness and peace.

日蓮大聖人は、厳然と仰せになられました。
「現在に眼前の証拠あらんずる人・此の経を説かん時は信じる人もありやせん」と。
Nichiren Daishonin declares: “When one who is able to show clearly visible proof in the present expounds the Lotus Sutra, there also will be persons who will [come to] believe [in the sutra]” (“Letter to Horen,” The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, vol. 1, p. 512).
我ら創価家族は、御聖訓の通り、広布誓願の題目を唱え弘めながら、いかなる人生の宿命も、いかなる社会の苦難も、一つーつ打開し、転換してきました。また、たゆまず挑戦しています。
Chanting and spreading Nam-myoho-renge-kyo based on the vow for kosen-rufu, just as the Daishonin teaches, we of the Soka family have overcome and transformed, one by one, all manner of personal karma and challenges in society. And we continue to do so today.

Nothing is more eloquent than the countless examples of actual proof we have shown of the power of faith and practice.

人類が渇仰する「人間革命」と「立正安国」の希望の大哲理を、私たちは、さらに明るく、さらに誠実に、さらに確信に燃えて、語り、示し、伝えていきたいと思うのであります。
Humanity is thirsting for the hope-inspiring principles of human revolution and “establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land.” Let’s share these principles with unflagging optimism, sincerity and conviction, explaining and communicating their importance to as many people as possible.

新年を寿ぐ御書には、「法華経を信ずる人は・さいわいを万里の外よりあつむべし」とお約束くださっております。
In a letter celebrating the arrival of a new year, the Daishonin assures us, “Those who . . . believe in the Lotus Sutra will gather fortune from ten thousand miles away” (“New Year’s Gosho,” WND-1, 1137).
「月月・日日に」、強盛なる祈りと異体同心の団結で――
“Day by day and month after month” (“On Persecutions Befalling the Sage,” WND-1, 997), with strong prayer and unity of purpose, let us:
皆で賢く仲良く朗らかに「心の財」を積みゆく前進を！
1) Advance together wisely, harmoniously and joyfully, accumulating “treasures of the heart” (“The Three Kinds of Treasure,” WND-1, 851)!
新たな「地涌の人材」を呼び出し、励まし育む前進を！
2) Advance, calling forth new capable Bodhisattvas of the Earth and encouraging and fostering them!
そして、家庭も地域も、郷土も国土も、「和楽」と「安穏」と「繁栄」へリードしゆく前進を！よろしくお願いします。
3) Advance, leading the way to harmony, peace and prosperity for our families, communities, homelands and the countries where we live!
愛する創価の世界市民の健康長寿とご多幸を祈り、私も妻と、いやまして真剣に題目を送ってまいります。どうか、お元気で！
Together with my wife, Kaneko, I am chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo even more earnestly and praying for the happiness and long, healthy, fulfilling lives of all of you, our dear fellow members everywhere, the global citizens of Soka.

２０２０年、あけましておめでとうございます。
皆さん、お餅食べていますか？
私はずっと食べ続けています。
ほっぺがお餅のようだとみんなに言われます。
・・・かわいいってことにしておいてください。
特に新年。私は会合終わりに配られる昆布が大好きです。
歯が欠けるほど固い昆布に当たるとちょっと嬉しい。
そんなどうでもよい話は置いておいて、
今年もどうぞよろしくお願いいたします！
